Who is a member ?

If you have ever asked for our advise then we consider you a member.

When eBayfakes.com started in 2006 its goal was to help any art collectors who needed honest non biased advise concerning auctions on eBay (and other auction sites as well).

Within one year of eBayfakes.com opening the amount of forgeries (Auctioned on eBay), and the sellers which not only represented these fakes, but most likely made them, were reduced by almost 70% to 80%. That means for every 10 (Ten) forgeries that ebayfakes would usually find on any given day was now reduced to 2 or 3 forgeries. (This is within our artist of expertice).

This drastic drop in fake art being offered on eBay remained consistent until we closed in 2007 for 1 year. This sad fact will now change back in favor of the buyer.

The forum here has changed. Please read the following:

What is an expert ?

An expert, more generally, is a person with extensive
knowledge or ability in a particular area of study. Experts are called in for advice on their respective subject, but they do not always agree on the particulars of a field of study.

An expert can be, by virtue of training, education, profession, publication or experience, believed to have special knowledge of a subject beyond that of the average person, sufficient that others may officially (and legally) rely upon the individuals opinion.

Historically, an expert was referred to as a sage. The individual was usually a profound philosopher distinguished for wisdom and sound judgment.

Expertise consists of those characteristics, skills and knowledge of a person (that is, expert) or of a field, which distinguishes experts from novices and less experienced people.

In many domains there are objective measures of performance capable of distinguishing experts from novices

Example:

Expert chess players will almost always win games against recreational chess players.

at·tri·bu·tion .

1. The act of attributing, especially the act of establishing a particular person as the creator of a work of art.

2. Something, such as a quality or characteristic, that is related to a particular possessor; an attribute.
